Hazardous chemical drums

HAZARDOUS MATERIALS & CHEMICALS

Industry Solutions

Ensure effective hazard communication & regulatory compliance through proper labeling of drums & containers that require high resistance to chemicals, heat, water, abrasion & variable weather conditions.

From a workplace safety perspective, ensure effective communication of hazards through clear labeling of materials. For transport requirements, this is especially important due to GHS (Globally Harmonized System) and BS5609 regulations that require information to remain legible from manufacturing to shipping.

The labeling of chemical drums and containers requires identification labels with high resistance to chemicals, heat, water, abrasion, and heavy weather conditions. This is especially important due to GHS and BS5609 regulations that require information to remain legible from manufacturing to shipping to end-users.

We offer a variety of thermal transfer solutions with the necessary resistance to meet GHS requirements. In addition, our resin thermal transfer ribbons have undergone BS5609 certification tests and are approved with specified base materials to meet the most demanding chemical drum label applications.

BS 5609 - Thermal Transfer Compliance
The IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) requires a BS5609 certification. This global standard labeling system requires resistance to saltwater immersion, UV exposure, temperature cycling, and abrasion. This certification is similar to UL in that the ribbon and label must be approved as a combination. The ink alone is not BS5609 compliant. Our full resin ribbons have undergone third-party certification tests and are approved with specified base materials to meet the most demanding chemical drum label applications.
